Varsha Swamy

Varsha Swamy

Founder, Marriage and Family Therapist

Varsha Swamy – MS Applied Psychology and MS Marriage and Family Therapy- has a unique background that combines her dual master’s with a wide range of experiences from several parts of the United States and India. Varsha has spent the last 10 years working with individuals, couples and families across outpatient, private practice, organizational and workshop settings. Varsha is skilled in working with couples and individuals that struggle with recognition and communication of their underlying emotions. She helps clients identify the parts of themselves that have mastered the art of distraction, denial and destruction in response to their traumatic past. However, insight into an issue is only one part of the healing process. Varsha partners with her clients to empower them with the tools they need to challenge unwanted patterns, to overcome dips in confidence and to show up as their most authentic selves in every space and relationship they occupy.

Trained in Gottman, PACT and EFT modalities, Varsha approaches couples from the perspective that our romantic partners have the unique ability to make or break our nervous systems in a way that no other person can. When couples feel threatened, their nervous systems shut down leading to a snowball effect of negative interactions from that point forward. Recognizing this, Varsha helps couples build the skills they need to communicate more effectively, co-regulate one another and most importantly, feel safe again in their relationship.

Apart from her practice, Varsha has been invited by several Universities and corporates to conduct workshops and training courses on niche topics such as preparedness for marriage, parenting in adoption, leadership and assertiveness skill building, as well as training graduate students and professionals in a variety of therapy modalities. These skills landed Varsha co-teaching and supervisory roles of the clinical graduate programs at CSU. As a visionary, she is passionate about social justice causes and actively works through both social media and real-time platforms to create a more inclusive and accepting community for all. Self-care for Varsha includes being in nature, exploring new cuisines and experiences, painting and spending time with loved ones.

Jonathan Lee

Marriage and Family Therapist

jonlee@harmonypathway.com

Jonathan operates from the belief that there is hope to be found in any situation, skillfully helps clients identify and nurture this hope. Jonathan specializes in working alongside individuals, couples and families in navigating the complex nature of inter and intra personal relationships. He gently supports clients in identifying their wounded parts that get stuck in unhealthy cycles leaving the person feeling depleted and stuck. Not only is Jonathan adept in assisting clients in the identification of these disconnects, he also empowers his clients with effective strategies and skills to begin healing these wounds. Jonathan joins with his clients to dismantle unwelcomed patterns, empower them towards growth and healing, and supports them in taking an active role in authoring their new, most authentic story. Trained primarily in Gottman, PACT, and Solution Focused modalities, Jonathan approaches couples from the belief that we all seek safety in our relationships, and when safety is not felt our central nervous systems respond unconsciously to protect us from this threat to our well-being.
When unresolved, this can lead to a cascade of negative interactions, hurt feelings, and decreased communication. In order to shift this course of events, Jonathan assists clients in mastering their central nervous systems through self and co-regulation, while also providing his clients with the tools they need to begin intentionally creating safety, stability, and consistency within their relationships.
Aside from Jonathan’s work with couples, he is passionate about working with youth and children involved in both the justice and foster care systems. In addition, he experiences a depth of joy in improving the quality of life of children on the autism spectrum alongside their families. When not engaging in the therapeutic process, Jonathan enjoys rock climbing, riding his motorcycle, and being a dog-dad.

Specialized areas of Jonathan’s:
  • Children in foster care
  • Children involved in the juvenile justice system
  • Children with autism and their families
  • Individuals/couples struggling with substance use
  • Couples dealing with struggles in communication and intimacy
  • Husbands and fathers who struggle with emotional vulnerability

Luna Boothe

Marriage and Family Therapist

lunaboothe@harmonypathway.com

Luna enjoys working with clients who find themselves going through difficult life transitions or struggling with factors outside their control (e.g. relational issues, work stressors, and socio-political pressures). Luna collaborates and empowers individuals, couples, and families by helping them explore, introspect and examine both their internal and inter-personal worlds. When working with couples and families, Luna uses a combination of Gottman and EFT modalities to build upon a foundation of trust and safety between partners and family members. Necessary communication skills are provided and thoroughly practiced. Once these skills are well established, Luna assists their clients in identifying and discussing the emotional impacts of core issues to increase emotional awareness and strengthen connections.
Luna perceives their role to be a supportive collaborator on a part of each client’s unique journey. Luna firmly believes that every individual is the expert of their own lives. Luna uses the therapy process to encourage and support their clients to advocate for themselves and express their needs. Luna creates this dialogue to adapt or create interventions to fit the client and their goals.

Luna’s approaches to therapy are informed by their background in biochemistry and research. Throughout their academic career, Luna has pursued multiple opportunities in hands-on research practices that have given them a unique understanding of evidenced-based strategies and gaps within clinical practice. It is a passion of Luna’s to bridge these gaps by staying up to date on the latest research and make informed decisions that are balanced with a client-centered approach.

Outside of therapy, Luna pursues ongoing research endeavors and engages in various forms of advocacy. In their free time, Luna enjoys being involved in their community, working on traditional and digital art, role-play games, and sword fighting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on the type of service you are looking for the cost varies. Scroll down on the homepage to find the breakdown of each service offered by Harmony Pathway. Be sure to enquire about our package deals.

Harmony pathway is not in-network with any insurance companies, but we do accept PPO insurance as an out of network provider. What that means is you pay your therapist directly and upon request, receive a receipt for services (called a superbill) for you to submit to your insurance at the end of every month. Once your claim is accepted, your insurance will either mail you a check for the amount they are able to reimburse you for or they will apply that amount to your deductible depending on the details of the insurance plan that you have.

Some helpful questions to keep in mind when talking to your insurance provider:

  • What is the rate that my insurance provider will pay for an out-of-network provider for individual sessions (code 90837)/ couples’ session (code 90847)? In the event that you are receiving teletherapy services, provide the original code with the addition of ‘95’ in your enquiry.
  • What is my deductible that needs to be met before you are able to reimburse me for out-of-network therapy sessions?
  • How many sessions do you cover after I have met my deductible?
No, we do not prescribe medication to our clients. However, our marriage and family therapists work closely with licensed medical professionals (such as psychiatrists) within the community to provide referrals whenever deemed appropriate and necessary. In addition to psychiatrists, we are happy to make referrals to other reputed therapists, reiki healers, yoga specialists and more. Harmony Pathway values holistic healing and will work with you to form a team of healers you can trust.
At the core of it, there are over 100 million Americans without adequate access to healthcare. Teletherapy, statistically shown to have the same effectiveness as in-person therapy, has been widely accepted by all major mental health boards and associations given its ability to not only increase accessibility of healthcare, but to offer these services at what is now being argued as a more convenient and comfortable platform than in-person session. Clients spend less time and energy travelling to and from sessions, can access help from the convenience and privacy of their offices or homes and do not have to wait in the waiting room when dropping off loved ones. In addition to all of this, online therapy allows clients access their therapist even when they’re on vacation, business trips or happen to have their partner travelling to some other location.
Absolutely! Harmony Pathway offers both in-person and online therapy services. In addition to being able to access help from different locations, online therapy has several other benefits. When you receive your confirmation email with the link to enter our HIPAA compliant teletherapy platform, ensure to send this link to your partner as well.

Harmony Pathway recognizes that having the flexibility to schedule sessions on a different day of the week each week feels comforting to some, while others feel calm just knowing that they have a fixed slot each week with their name on it. We do our best to provide both options. If scheduling issues are on your mind, bring it up during your free consultation and know that our priority is to work with you to find a stress-free way to have therapy be a part of your life.
Finding free parking can be a major stressor for most people. Harmony Pathway offers their clients the convenience of ample free parking just steps from our therapy suites. The in-person office is situated within a safe professional campus.
The Gottman Method  is a form of skill building couples therapy that is based on nearly 5 decades of research. Partners learn to identify and replace their contemptuous, defensive and stonewalling interactions with more active ways to build fondness and admiration, turn towards one another when they are hurting, and repair their relational bond when they mess up. The Gottman Method describes such mess ups as natural and therefore teaches couples how to handle both the ‘during’ and ‘post’ conflict stages of their romantic relationships. Over time, partners build what is known as a Sound Relationship House where they work towards enacting their life goals and dreams. PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy) works by helping couples cut to the crux of what is really happening within themselves and between them. A therapist works with the couple to help them slow down their interactions and better understand what happens between them during conflict at the nervous system level. Once the couple gets a better grasp on this, it becomes possible to find healthier ways to interact that don’t feel threatening and lead to conflict escalation. EFT (Emotional Focused Therapy) is a short-term structured approach that helps couples build secure bonds by reshaping their emotional accessibility, responsiveness, and engagement with one another. In short, couples learn how to de-escalate their conflict, restructure their emotional interactions, and eventually consolidate this new attachment bond through maintenance.
Closed group therapy refers to a group of clients that attend therapy together from the start of the group program till the end. No new members are permitted to join this group once it has begun. Research has shown that the most effective group size ranges from 8 to 12 individuals. Closed group therapy is a powerful way to heal yourself amidst those experiencing similar challenges, all the while making the best use of your time, emotions and money.

Harmony Pathway recognizes that being a therapist online can be isolating and sometimes daunting. On one side, newbees are hoping to avoid the resource wastage that comes from trial and error while on the other, those looking to grow their business can actively benefit from tax, payroll and subscription bonuses but are unsure how to regularly receive them. We have created a win-win. Truthfully, the real exchange is paying it forward and creating a community that can rely on one another. So healers of FoCo, what are you waiting for? Contact us now!

Once a month, the Oasis community of healers assemble to unwind, refocus their energy on Self, and create intentions for the upcoming month. Each semi-structured two hour event has a 25 minute slot dedicated to achieving the above mentioned goals. We have a powerful line up of mindful, somatic, team building, ‘Self’ nurturing, inner-child releasing activities led by experts in their own field. We invite Oasis members to contact us to lead these segments (all ideas/offerings are welcome- be creative) as this is an opportunity to heal our community’s healers. In addition, it is an opportunity to showcase your talents to those who will gladly increase your referrals when they realize the magic you do.
